Finding Frankenstein

I understand completely why Frankenstein and his family were leaving for their beautiful property; it would take my mind off things easily as well. But one thing I cannot grasp is that the monster is able to find him everywhere he goes. Another example would be how his youngest brother, William was murdered by the monster. How did the monster even know about William and his relation to Frankenstein? So my final question is: Does it not seem like almost every confrontation seems too unreal that it does not sound like it could actually happen? Just a thought to feed on.

  1. That's exactly how I felt when I read the book! However, I think I figured it out... The Monster knows who Frankenstein is because he finds Victor's journal which had his name AND Address on it. The monster goes to Geneva to find his creator, and on the way comes across a little boy who says that his name is William Frankenstein. Upon hearing the name "Frankenstein", the creature becomes enraged, realizing that the boy is Victor's son. He then kills poor William. :( ***Bless his soul... :)

I also think that the monster "Stalks" Frankenstein in a way (Bless his soul... HaHaHa). He seems to always follow Frankenstein around. Creepy, right?

    Great blog!!

  2. I think that it is a little weird to have the monster stalking Victor. But, realistically, I don't think that it could happen, but in another way it could. Great blog!

  3. I think that some of the situations that Victor and the monster are put in are unrealistic. Like when the monster is hiding beside the cottage or how the monster stalks Victor. Some of the confrontations could be real, but some could never be real. Great Blog!

  4. Perhaps the monster's great strength is also matched by his tremendous intellect.

  6. Yes it is very strange, but Jessica is right. He had Framkensteins address so once he went there, all the peices fit together and the Monster just "oddly" came across frankensteins family.

  7. I think Mr. Davis is right in saying that the monster is just really intelligent. Great Blog.

  8. I think that it takes time for the monster to fiqure everything out but i also think that his very high intelligence contributes to his knowledge of Victors whereabouts.
